At the meeting Presenter (S4) said the TSI tag is an “early warning” signal and described the high school's plan as aligning to the district's comprehensive goals and the state's essential practices. Administrator (S6) summarized the immediate focus: “We are going to be focusing on creating an instructional culture… MTSS, focusing on data and making informed decisions around data,” and said teams will develop 90‑day action plans and meet quarterly to review progress.
District staff said the approach mirrors steps taken successfully at the middle school after a prior TSI designation. Presenter (S4) told the board that the district plans to submit the high school plan through the state system and that “we would be seeking board approval so that we can get this submitted through the state system by September 1.” Staff also said they will provide a mid‑year update to the board on implementation status.
No formal vote on the TSI plan took place at the work session; presenters said the item will be on next week's agenda for the board's vote and state submission. The district also said it is piloting data tools to help identify students who need support and to progress‑monitor interventions.
