A parent who said he lives in Monroe Township asked the board to address junior high soccer staffing after the program expanded substantially: "We had like 11, maybe 12 kids. Well this year, we had an influx of I believe 30 ish kids for junior high soccer," the commenter said, adding the program currently has one paid junior high coach and a volunteer assistant. Chair asked administrators to follow up and prepare a recommendation for the board.
Administrators acknowledged the concern and said the contingency fund could cover an added coach if needed; the board requested a formal recommendation from administration. Trustees also discussed ensuring complaint and contact procedures for families when programs are shared with partner districts.
On personnel and student supports, the board approved multiple items: the appointment of Jamie Schmader as a clerk/typist (substitute and part‑time clerk effective Aug. 4), hiring part‑time paraprofessionals at $15 per hour pending required documentation, acceptance of a part‑time paraprofessional resignation effective Aug. 11, and approval of an elementary guidance counselor position for the 2025–26 school year to provide continuity of services written into some IEPs. The board amended language for item EE to clarify that the free breakfast and lunch benefit is per day for the 2025–26 school year and approved the amendment by voice vote.
Trustees also approved cooperative arrangements allowing the Wildcat cheer program to compete in PIAA‑sanctioned competitions under the shared agreement with Clarion Area School District; administrators said there would be no cost to the district under the shared agreement. Several supplemental coaching and volunteer approvals also passed as part of the consent agenda.
The board took these personnel and program votes by voice and hand where noted; administrators will follow up with implementation details and any necessary written agreements for co‑op participants.
