"We're looking forward to installing that this summer and having a very, very new system... we're paying pennies on the dollar for what it would have caused," the administrator said.
Board members asked administration to confirm whether permits will be required and who will perform the installation; administration said it will check with county authorities and solicit competitive options. The board approved both the retroactive purchase and the installation appropriation by roll-call votes.
The district indicated it will follow procurement and permitting procedures during the summer and asked the facilities team to coordinate installation work with district maintenance staff and any contracted professionals.
