Racing Commission renews two Class B licenses for Canterbury Park and Running Aces

The Racing Commission approved renewals of two Class B licenses at its Dec. 18 meeting.
Staff reported that the record contained the requisite findings to renew the license for Canterbury Park Entertainment LLC for the license year Jan. 1–Dec. 31. The commission moved, seconded and approved the renewal by voice vote.
For action item 5b, the commission approved renewal of the Class B license covering the North Metro harness initiative/Running Aces Casino, Hotel and Racetrack. Staff indicated submissions from the associations created an adequate record for the requisite findings. The motion passed by voice vote.
No commissioner requested extended discussion on either renewal during the meeting; both renewals were approved as routine licensing actions.
The commission also approved minutes from the Nov. 20 meeting (with a recusal noted) and adopted an amended agenda that postponed the annual tribute until January.
