Board approves personnel transitions, new appointments and several hires at Spring Grove

The Spring Grove Area School District board approved a broad personnel slate including position title and description updates, Act 93 agreement adjustments and multiple appointments.
Personnel actions included transitioning the Director of Business Operations position to a contracted Business Manager role and moving Mark Zapp into the Business Manager title with no change to his current salary; approving Jennifer Lehi's transition to Assistant Business Manager under Act 93 with no salary change; and approving administrative and teacher appointments listed in the personnel packet. The board took a separate roll call on aquatics items and then approved personnel items A through M by roll call.
The board also introduced and recognized a group of newly hired or returning staff, including Elizabeth Coover (high school assistant principal, effective July 22, 2025), Emily Hawk, David Tolar, Kaitlyn/Caitlin Redding, Orville Fissel, Michael Eckersley, Cody Messersmith and Leah Schenberger (LPN). Superintendent Dr. Bradley thanked the board and Mr. Stein for the hiring process and recognized Bill Stiles for a nomination that led to a Wayne McCullough Award for a custodial staff member.
Why it matters: The personnel votes set district leadership and staffing for the upcoming year, including key changes in the business office that affect contract oversight and financial operations. Several hires will directly staff classrooms, special education and extracurricular activities for 2025‑26.
