The Spring Grove Area School District board approved a group of personnel items brought forward on the agenda, including authorization to advertise two temporary part-time over-enrollment aide positions at New Salem (4 hours each), acceptance of the retirement of Teresa Weaver after 31 years of service, acceptance of listed resignations, approval of uncompensated leave requests as listed, department chair assignments for 2025-26 with stipends governed by the collective bargaining agreement, extracurricular appointments under the stipend matrix, support staff substitute approvals for 2025-26, and the approval of an Act 86 day-to-day student substitute for up to 20 days at $125 per day pending clearances.
During discussion, a board member asked whether the district had reasons for the listed resignations; the clerk said the district conducts exit interviews and provides a survey to departing employees and that the boardd receive summary information once those exit interviews were completed. A separate question clarified that a $468 middle-school co-advisor stipend is split between two advisers and covers activities outside the school day (planning and events).
The grouped personnel items were taken as a block and carried in a roll-call vote.
Next steps: The clerk will provide the exit-interview summaries to the board when they are available.
