State licensing board reports multiple discipline orders, including revocation of one teaching license

The Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board reported several disciplinary orders after a closed session on Jan. 23, 2026, adopting stipulation agreements, consent orders and findings of fact and conclusions of law affecting multiple teachers and applicants.
"In closed session, the Board adopted stipulation agreement and consent order for Erin Dimock's teaching licenses are subject to a 1 year state suspension," Chair Lucy Payne said when the board returned to open session and read outcomes. Payne read a list of adopted actions that also included license‑renewal denials, license surrenders and multi‑year suspensions.
Assistant Attorney General Carly Rasmussen had urged the board during oral argument earlier in the meeting to adopt the ALJ's findings and revoke Dylan Smallridge's license after the committee presented evidence that, according to the hearing record, Mr. Smallridge had contact with a 16‑year‑old and resigned from a coaching position following the district investigation. Rasmussen said the educator ethics committee viewed revocation as the appropriate remedy; the board later reported it adopted the ALJ recommendation and revoked Smallridge’s license.
Other outcomes the chair read into the record included: a one‑year suspension for Erin Dimock; denial of renewal applications for Christian Gvat and Diovanas Hernandez; surrender of licenses by Derek Grosskert and Katherine Renke; two‑year suspensions for Kevin Holmes and Fip Kovong; suspension of Lindsay Lou’s license; one‑year suspensions for Marissa Leskie and Sarah Ramos; and a stipulation to cease practice for Paul Sunnell Shees. The board indicated it might have one additional case to confirm and paused briefly to verify the list before announcing it publicly.
The board did not debate these matters in open session; Chair Payne said final written orders and notices would be mailed to the parties after the board issues its written decisions. The actions reported were read by the chair on the record following a closed deliberation attended only by deliberating members, the advising attorney and designated neutrals.
Next steps: the board will issue written orders to the affected licensees and applicants. The chair said parties would be notified by mail of the board’s final decisions.
