District leaders report progress on comprehensive plan and curriculum mapping

Action steps cited included ongoing mandatory staff trainings (situational awareness, suicide awareness, bullying prevention), tabletop drills with local law enforcement, parent safety‑committee meetings, professional learning communities (PLCs) to align curriculum across buildings, and incorporation of newly proposed Pennsylvania career‑readiness standards into curriculum maps once the state finalizes them.
Dr. Hughes described work to add career‑readiness standards to the district’s curriculum maps and called out an approved personal‑financial‑management course introduced last year. Administrators also described partnerships for internships and college‑credit opportunities, and noted an upcoming process to develop the next comprehensive plan for the 2027–28 school year with stakeholder engagement.
