HR report: retirements, multiple resignations and request for staff to reconcile counts

Human resources presented an extensive personnel report to the board committee on Oct. 16. Mrs. Wooley, the HR representative, congratulated Spanish teacher Kimberly Farr on her expected retirement in January 2026 after 31 years of service and listed the resignation of Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Doctor Guy Lierry among several other ratified resignations and hires.
Mrs. Wooley walked the committee through multiple agenda items: ratifications of professional and classified resignations and hires, supplemental-contract approvals for the 2025–26 school year, a rehire of a security officer, changes of assignment, leave ratifications and other personnel actions across several pages of the agenda.
A board member raised concern about an apparent discrepancy between a verbal report that '33 teachers resigned' and the documentation in the board packet. The board member asked HR to provide a written reconciliation showing who left, who received step increases, and total step-increase amounts so the committee can compare data sets and understand any difference.
Separately, the committee noted item 10 remains a placeholder while interviews continue; if a final candidate for assistant superintendent is vetted this week, the agenda will be updated before Wednesday to add a motion to approve that appointment.
