Property committee reports FMX work-orders, lead testing pending and plans for facilities upgrades

Trina Singleton, chair of the property committee, reported that the facilities department submitted and completed 45 FMX work orders in January and that staff will share lead-testing results when they are available.
"The FMX was the system that they do all the work requests... that's why it was really... they got the 45 work orders in, and we're able to get the 45 work orders completed and closed out for that month," Singleton said.
Singleton listed building improvements under way or planned: Harris Elementary will receive new library doors and a new exterior kitchen entry; Delcoff Elementary’s gym received new light fixtures; Sharon Hill Elementary has a new security office for investigations; and Night Academy converted a storage closet into a staff lounge. She also flagged flooding outside Academy Park when it rains and an electrical-shock incident at the case center that administration inspected with the fire marshal and an electrician.
On capital planning, the superintendent reported reconnecting with GKO — the architect firm previously engaged to draft middle-school plans — and said he will meet with them March 16 to review prior work and restart planning. The administration has also begun a bid process to replace or improve the district cleaning contract and will bring vendor recommendations to the board after the bid review.
