The Pittsburgh SD's Business & Finance Committee heard an updated 2026 general fund budget that projects $732,300,000 in expenditures and a $6,300,000 deficit, district staff said at the Nov. 30 meeting.
Mr. Joseph, who presented the budget update, said the estimate incorporates savings from recent state cyber-charter reforms that staff project will reduce district cyber charter tuition payments by about $12.01 million a year. He said the savings, together with other state budget items, improve the district's near-term fund-balance outlook and keep the budget in compliance with the board's 5% fund-balance policy through 2026.
