District hears preliminary proposal to join township on new fuel-tank system; details pending

Officials said the discussions are at an early stage: the township is doing cost work on removing its system, installing a new system and removing the district’s tanks. The district currently operates one 3,000‑gallon gasoline underground tank and a 9,000‑gallon diesel tank at the bus garage. Administration expects a set of preliminary cost numbers in about a month and stressed that any joint work would be subject to the township’s board process and further district review.
There was no action taken at the meeting; staff said they will return with numbers when they are available.
