During committee reports on Dec. 3 the Salisbury Township School District finance committee said the district audit and Annual Financial Report (AFR) are near completion after account-code changes required a brief revision. The district indicated it expects to finish the audit by the end of the week or early next week and that department budgets—sent to administrators with three years of prior-year data—are due back after the Christmas break (Jan. 2).
Finance committee members noted they will transfer salary and benefit lines into the budget after the holiday and that the administration will attend consortium and consortium-provider meetings (including LCTI and Highmark) to finalize costs that affect next year’s projections.
On the regular board agenda the board approved consent items under Curriculum & Technology: a Learn Well agreement to provide educational services for a student, a five-year affiliation agreement with Muhlenberg College, a five-year dual-enrollment agreement with Cedar Crest, and a waiver of an expulsion hearing (admission of fact) for a student expelled through the end of the 2025–26 school year. The board also approved routine personnel items (hiring authority and substitute additions) and payment of bills; the treasurer’s report was deferred until January due to timing.
Separately, the secretary of the board summarized the Independent Fiscal Office’s projected Act 1 index (an inflation/allowable tax-index measure) for upcoming years—roughly 3% annually across several years—information the board will use in budget planning.
What happens next: administrators continue the budget process over the winter break with department submissions due Jan. 2 and further committee review at operations and finance meetings in January and February.
