Penn Manor honors retirees and names employee, secondary educator of the year

The board took time on May 5 to recognize retiring staff and award the district’s annual employee honors.
Superintendent Philip P.B. Gale and board members honored four retirees who were part of an 18‑person retiree class for the 2024–25 school year: Chip Mathias (former director of buildings and grounds), Scott Herzog (English teacher and esports program leader), Joey Garrett (technology‑education teacher), and Wendy Letavic (ESL teacher). Gale described each retiree’s contributions and said the district would present a personalized resolution and a retiree video on the district’s YouTube channel.
The district named Jen Rohrer its employee of the year (a secretary at Manor Middle School) and Kurt Elledge its secondary educator of the year. Both Rohrer and Elledge were recognized for longstanding contributions to student support and instructional practice.
The recognitions were described by administrators as a celebration of service and contributions to students and the community.
