Mrs. Corral, presenting the budget and finance segment, introduced committee business earlier in the meeting; later in the policy discussion the chair and other members agreed to leave the revised items on the agenda while they consult the solicitor. "We received some modification requests from our solicitor, and that had previously been slated for final approval. So we are restarting the review process on that, and it is up for first reading," a committee speaker stated during the report.
Mister Klein also told members he had read Motion 26 for the Clayton Target team and identified substantive concerns in the text. He said the board will discuss the motion with the solicitor at the upcoming meeting and encouraged members to submit specific comments in advance so the solicitor can review them. Members agreed that, if needed, a motion to table could be made before the full voting meeting.
The committee recommended keeping Policy 816 at first reading after implementing solicitor-suggested edits and asked that the solicitor attend a subsequent meeting to walk directors through Policy 26-related concerns. No formal votes on these policy items were recorded in the committee segment of the transcript.
The matter will return to the board for further consideration at the next scheduled meeting, with solicitor input expected prior to any final action.
