Policy committee forwards multiple policy updates for first reading, including enrollment, stop‑arm cameras and school safety

Transportation policy was updated to reference the state law permitting cameras on bus stop arms to deter stop‑arm violations. "In this policy, there's no actual word revision. It's just on page 2. 1 of the citations just refers to the new law that allows us to put cameras on that stop arm," policy staff said.
Other changes reflect recent case law and PSBA model language on public comment, allow the district to drop address requirements for safety reasons (residents may identify municipality instead of a full address), add a moment‑of‑silence policy to observe the anniversary of Sept. 11, and update references to local law enforcement agencies and reporting to state safety entities (PA Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency). The business office also updated PHI/HIPAA‑related disclosure rules and added language about reproductive health information in line with federal guidance.
Committee members approved forwarding the policies to the board for a first reading; no policy was adopted at this meeting.
