Penn Manor board honors departing directors Swigert and Straub, previews Dec. 1 reorganization

The Penn Manor School Board used the Nov. 17 Committee of the Whole meeting to recognize two departing directors. President Dr. Joseph G. Fullerton opened a series of tributes to Mitchell L. Swigert, who served from Feb. 5, 2018, through Dec. 1, 2025, and Christopher C. Straub, who served from Dec. 7, 2009, through Dec. 1, 2025. Colleagues recalled long service, community engagement and specific contributions to career‑technical education and district leadership.
Formal proclamations commending both directors were read and indicated signatures by Dr. Joseph G. Fullerton and Superintendent Dr. Philip B. Gale. The board also reviewed the Dec. 1 reorganization sequence: certificate of election readings, oath of office for newly elected members, selection of a temporary president among the holdover members and nominations/elections for president and vice president. No final votes were taken in Committee of the Whole; the reorganization is scheduled for Dec. 1.
