Mt Lebanon SD's LIBO United to develop DEI staff training and a new family onboarding process

A Mount Lebanon School District staff member said the district's DEI working group, LIBO United, will complete two goals over the summer to support equity and inclusion in 2024-25.
The staff member said the first goal is to "develop a comprehensive and professional development plan for all staff to support equity and inclusion," and that LIBO United is collaborating with the district professional-development committee to create short learning experiences for the 2024-25 school year.
The second goal, the staff member said, is to "ensure all stakeholders feel safe, supported and included as valued members of the school community" by building an onboarding process for new families. The onboarding will include a welcome and district overview, communication channels, curriculum summaries, extracurricular offerings, support services and technology use. The staff member said the district will work with the International Families Group at Mount Lebanon Library on the effort.
The staff member said this work will continue over the summer and feed into the 2024-25 school-year supports and orientation activities.
