Marshall intermediate student government presents outreach plans to Morrisville board

Julie Hable, Marshall music teacher and intermediate student government adviser, introduced elected student representatives who described outreach and fundraising projects at the district board meeting.
Hable said the student government — elected representatives from grades 3–5 — runs community outreaches such as an annual food drive (running through Dec. 12), a tag collection for CHOP, sock and warm-item drives for a local shelter, and a valentines-for-veterans program. Fundraising supports student programs including theater assemblies and an end-of-year laser light show; planned fundraisers include an ugly-sweater sale and a Chick-fil-A day on Jan. 26.
Hable told the board she encourages students to drive meetings and initiatives and praised their follow-through, noting one student-led effort to draft a letter to the Pennsylvania Department of Education about computer-based PSSA testing. Board members applauded the students and urged them to keep writing letters to legislators to share district experiences.
The presentation was accompanied by a printed article shared with the board and will be posted to the district website when available.
