Millersburg Area School Board approves multiple personnel moves, agreements and resolutions

The board accepted the retirement of Mr. Hunter, effective Nov. 1, and wished him well after noting his 35 years with the district. The board also approved the resignation of Jennifer Sandusky as high school principal, effective Aug. 21. The board voted to employ Casey Campbell as high school music teacher; members were told her exact start date was not yet finalized.
Other personnel approvals included mentor teacher appointments, hiring a gifted STEM coach, reclassification of two pre-K paraprofessionals and a site/secretary position, appointment of substitute teachers and approval of a substitute coordinator and volunteer coaches for basketball and Science Olympiad.
On administrative and policy items, the board approved the Title I agreement, the student and South handbooks, a PID e-signature resolution and Pre-K counts (FIP pays). The meeting record shows the board also approved an Act 93 salary adjustment of $1,000 for Act 93 employees and supplemental compensation for Mike Leiter and Mr. Hunsinger to cover high school principal duties.
Financial notes in the meeting record indicate a $50,000 payment to Musco for athletic lighting was charged to a DCED grant obtained via Senator Rothman’s office; business-office staff also said mileage reimbursements associated with an opening convocation were covered by a PCCD grant.
All listed votes were passed by roll-call or unanimous voice vote as recorded in the meeting minutes. No public comments were registered at the start of the meeting.
