Morrisville Borough School District board ratifies support-staff contract, votes 8–0

The Morrisville Borough School District board voted to ratify a collective bargaining agreement with the Morrisville Educational Support Personnel Association (MESPA) during its meeting, approving the motion by roll call 8–0.

Board leadership read the motion to ratify and a second was recorded before trustees discussed whether the agreement would be retroactive. Superintendent Dr. Andrew Dowser told the board he had assumed the contract would be made retroactive to when the tentative agreement was reached. "I had assumed it would be retroactive back to when the tentative agreement was reached," he said.

President (meeting chair) thanked the MESPA negotiating team and the union’s representative for reaching an agreement. "I wanna thank everybody on the MESPA team, as well as their representative … getting to an agreement that everybody was able to agree to," the President said.

A roll-call vote followed. Trustees voting "yes" were listed by the board as Brockington, Catalini, May, Murray, Schmidt, Stern, Getty and Miller; the board noted one member (Mister Smith) was not present. The president announced, "Motion carries 8 0." No amendments to the motion were recorded in the meeting transcript.

The ratification applies to the agreement between Morrisville Borough SD and the Morrisville Educational Support Personnel Association; the transcript indicates the board and superintendent treated the effective/retroactive date as the tentative-agreement date but does not quote a specific calendar date for that retroactivity.
