Administrators recapped Plans for a combined spring festival to build community across schools, noted kindergarten registration is underway, and previewed spring assemblies and a BMX show. Staff also congratulated students for strong performances in NAEP testing and local competitions and described coordination between elementary and high school students for scheduling and transition work.
Mrs. White and other administrators praised the high school cheerleaders after a trip disrupted by Winter Storm Fern, describing the students' composure through canceled flights and travel challenges. "They represented Montoursville so well," one administrator said.
On safety and technology, technology staff (Sebastian) reported the district is rolling out SmartPass, a digital hall-pass solution, is evaluating device platforms for kindergarten and first grade, and plans a OneDrive migration for staff file storage. The district has an E-rate networking project out for bid that would, if funded and a successful bid received, cover approximately 80% of high-school networking upgrade costs.
Staff also told trustees that the district has been working with CurvePoint on a proposed weapon-detection system for the high school; if the board approves the purchase, cabling will begin and equipment would be installed next month.
Next steps: the board will consider the CurvePoint item as part of the relevant facilities/security agenda; staff will continue technology budget planning and return final procurement details for board approval.
