Millersburg Area SD board elects new leaders, appoints member and approves short‑term contract

The Millersburg Area School District board opened its Dec. 4 reorganization meeting with a roll call, oath of office and a slate of leadership votes that reshaped the panel’s leadership for the coming year.

After nominations from the floor, the board approved Jason Enders as temporary president and then elected Jason Minnick as board president and Josh Eggleston as vice president by voice vote. Certificates of election were read aloud and the oath of office was administered to seated members.

The board also approved two time‑sensitive personnel items. Members unanimously approved a one‑time educational services agreement with bilingual school psychologist Margaret Hackenberg to evaluate a Spanish‑speaking student who arrived with an active special‑education plan. The board’s secretary completed a roll‑call vote for the contract, and all members voted yes.

To fill a vacancy left by a previously declined seat, the board nominated and appointed Elijah Schutt to the board. The appointment passed by unanimous roll call; the new appointee was instructed to take the oath of office.

Board members also instructed staff to follow up on several administrative items and closed the reorganizational portion of the meeting. The temporary president was named from among holdover members, and the new officers will serve under the board’s procedural schedule until the next reorganization.

The board recorded its votes aloud during the meeting; no contested elections or failed motions were announced. The district clerk read certificates and recorded the official roll‑call approvals.
