Montoursville Area SD board appoints Amanda Kling to fill vacancy

The Montoursville Area School District board on Feb. 24 voted to appoint Amanda Kling to fill the board vacancy created by Brenda Oberheim’s resignation. The motion to appoint Kling passed on a voice vote.
Kling introduced herself to the board after the appointment, saying, “My name is Amanda Kling. I live in Upper Fairfield Township. I am a licensed clinical social worker, and I have the privilege of working in a school during the day.” She also said she will be a parent in the district this fall when her son enters kindergarten.
The appointment was made under the motion presented by a board member and approved by the board during the general agenda. The chair asked Kling to take a moment to introduce herself after the vote; Kling described both her professional experience in schools and her connection to the community.
The appointment fills the seat through the remainder of the term (stated in the agenda as running through December 2027). The board welcomed Kling and moved on to consider combined consent items.
