McGuffey advances building wraps and sponsorships; board accepts $8,500 gym sponsorship

The board reviewed and approved multiple wrap projects and associated sponsorships and donations on July 18 as administration pursues a districtwide rebranding and safety benefit of window wraps.
Dr. Oberg described exterior wraps for gym and entrance towers and interior signage intended to limit sightlines into buildings while allowing occupants to see out. He said the initiative has been funded so far through private donations, sponsorships and an available bond the district must use prior to November. "This endeavor has been funded to this point through private donations, sponsorship, and a grant ... as well as using the existing bond that we have that has to use before the end of this November," he said.
The business agenda included approval to use existing grant funds to pay $11,136 for exterior wraps at Joe Walker, the middle and high school entrance towers and the gymnasium tower; that motion passed. The board also accepted an $8,500 sponsorship from Macadoo Towing and Crane Service for a gymnasium entrance wrap, and approved a series of smaller booster donations (wrestling, football, boys' and girls' basketball boosters) and a $753 donation from CNX for a conference room wrap at Joe Walker. Board members discussed sponsorship terms, recommended documenting useful life in writing and said administration will provide contract language and term lengths going forward.
Board members and presenters also discussed distinguishing between a sponsorship (one‑time donation with recognition) and a partnership (multi‑year naming/financial agreement) and agreed to return to the board with written terms where appropriate.
