The board also approved food service bills dated Sept. 19 ($53,171.57), the treasurer's reports for July and August 2024 and a GOB series bill list (check 21055, $20,750).
The board accepted a diamond‑level sponsorship from Newton Institute under district policy on sponsorships. When a board member asked whether the donation amount would be disclosed, administration said the donor requested it not be publicized and explained that some sponsorships are earmarked while others enter the district's general ledger as unrestricted gifts and must be approved for spending by the board. "They asked that it would not be publicized," administration said.
The board also accepted a $5,000 T‑Mobile award won through a school‑spirit social media sweepstakes; administration said the district remains eligible for a guaranteed $25,000 award and the possibility of larger facility funding as the contest progresses. The board approved participation in McDonald’s Arch Support Day (Clayville Elementary), the 2024–25 club and activity fundraisers list for McGuffey High School, and authorized removal and disposal of an attached library book list.
Other approvals included an application for homebound instruction for a grade‑12 student for medical reasons and authorization for Kerns Pharmacy to provide flu vaccinations to faculty and staff at district schools.
Leah Augustine, assistant principal, presented the middle‑school Student of the Month, Hickory Deloski, with remarks about the student’s preparation and dedication. After routine business, the board voted to enter executive session to discuss personnel and contracts; the motion carried.
