The board cleared a bundle of routine and programmatic items during the meeting, approving minutes, policy readings, program participation and contracts presented by the administration.
The Chair moved to approve the work‑session minutes for Sept. 10 and the business/legislative minutes for Sept. 17; the motion carried. The superintendent recommended approval of second readings for the policies listed in items 1–6 and the board approved them. The board also approved the first reading of the attachment to Policy 103.1 as presented.
On program expansion, the superintendent recommended that Charters Valley School District join the Project Succeed consortium; he said two districts are still returning paperwork but that the consortium is expected to reach about 10 schools, including for the first time one district outside the county. The motion to approve Charters Valley's participation carried.
Professional development items were approved, including participation in the Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education conference; staff told the board a 'gifted support boot camp' proposal is being developed. The board approved an internship site agreement with Slippery Rock University for a one‑year period from 10/16/2024 to 10/15/2025; the superintendent said the intern is a former Keystone Oaks student.
