Superintendent praises student blood drive, athletic competitors and community mural

Superintendent Dr. Myers used his Nov. 4 report to thank student council organizers and volunteers after a successful blood drive at the high school and to recognize recent student athletic achievements and community contributions.
"48 pints were given," Dr. Myers said, adding that 67 donors attempted to give and that some intended donors were unable to do so on the day of the drive. He specifically thanked student council members and volunteers including Courtney Dietrich, Miranda Morstad, Olivia Fisellante, Susanna Brown and Sadie Berger for running the event.
Dr. Myers also congratulated Daniel Cali for competing in PIAA cross country and Madeline Maley and Cadence Bohning for placing third in district tennis doubles and advancing to the PIAA tournament in Hershey. He noted community artist Mr. Hoffman completed a mural at the Kempton Community Center Stage Pavilion honoring local heritage.
Two student representatives reported on recent activities: one described a "Powerpuff" event as successful and another outlined that the school musical is incorporating a pit and that Quiz Bowl, Science Olympiad and debate teams have resumed competition. "That went well," a student representative said of Powerpuff.
The superintendent’s report served as an affirmation of student engagement and community volunteerism; the board then proceeded to routine agenda approvals.
