The Kutztown Area School District board voted to approve an updated field‑hockey partnership agreement with Brandywine Heights Area School District.
A district staff member said the partnership, which began to increase numbers and competitiveness, will continue but ownership and primary field access will move to Brandywine Heights when the latter installs a turf field. "It was a great success in many ways...this now moves the partnership...to Brandywine and their turf, providing even more opportunity for our student athletes to practice on turf regularly," the staff member said.
The staff member said the arrangement had allowed players to use Kutztown University turf and that the updated agreement will also give middle‑school athletes greater access to turf for competition and practice. The board moved, seconded and approved the partnership during the meeting.
The motion carried by voice/roll call; no amendments were recorded.
