At the Oct. 13 session the Chair reviewed proposed edits to multiple district policies and asked the committee to forward them to the full board.
Policy 105 (curriculum) received a proposed paragraph clarifying how special instructional dates (consultation days, civil rights/Constitution Day, Arbor Day) are handled in the curriculum plan; the Chair said the change mainly makes existing practice more explicit. The committee moved Policy 105 to the full board and members answered the roll call with aye.
The meeting then considered 01/22 and 01/23 language on interscholastic activities and athletics, including removing redundant references to Berks County Athletic Association bylaws and consolidating eligibility and off‑campus activity language into the district's discipline policy (Policy 218) per PSBA guidance; the committee moved the revisions to the full board.
Policy 626.1, which addresses travel and reimbursement requirements tied to federal programs, was also moved to the full board after the Chair confirmed the policy ensures prior approval for travel costs charged to federal grants.
Votes at a glance: the committee moved Policies 105, 01/22, 01/23 and 626.1 to the full board; each motion was seconded or moved on the record and received unanimous ayes in committee.
