Committee hears facilities updates — PCCD grant constraints, fuel-tank partnership and carpet replacement — and a fall sports recap

The committee received multiple operational briefings on Dec. 8 covering grants, facilities projects and extracurricular results.
Facilities staff said the district has approximately $55,000 in unspent PCCD (Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency) grant funds that must be expended by April and stressed that while budgets can be edited, the original project scope cannot be changed under current grant rules. Staff said they will circulate narrowed project options and board notes later in the week.
Separately, staff outlined a potential partnership to host an on-site fuel tank (vendor/partner referenced as BCI) that could reduce fuel costs and recover installation and software costs through a service-fee arrangement. Staff said a formal recommendation is likely by February and that any installation would be projected for summer 2026.
On capital expenditures, staff proposed replacing worn carpet in the district main office and adjacent administrative rooms at a Costar vendor price of $28,531, to be funded from the capital fund; the committee agreed to forward the item to the full board for approval.
The athletics update covered fall-season highlights across band, cheer, golf, tennis, cross-country, soccer and football and listed postseason recognitions and district qualifiers. The report noted resignations by the girls' tennis head coach and the boys' soccer coach; staff said they hope to identify candidates and have key positions filled before the spring season where possible.
No formal budget approvals were made during the committee meeting beyond forwarding the carpet replacement to the full board; staff will return with refined grant options and a formal recommendation on the fuel-tank partnership when details are final.
