Kiski Area Education Foundation opens scholarships and teacher grants, schedules golf outing

The Kiski Area Education Foundation told the school board on March 17 that scholarship applications are open and that the foundation has received four innovative‑teacher grant submissions so far.
“Scholarship applications are out, to students… I would encourage any students to check‑in with the counseling center, to apply for that scholarship,” the superintendent said while reporting for the Education Foundation. He said teacher grants are available for up to $1,500 and that the application period was open as of the prior week.
The foundation also described a donor‑recognition process for contributors and said it is continuing work on a tile project in collaboration with the art department. The foundation’s golf outing is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11, at Willowbrook Country Club; planning is underway.
The foundation is also reviewing new board‑member onboarding paperwork and moving to a five‑year rotation for its distinguished‑alumni nominations so former students (including deceased nominees) can be considered without annual resubmission. The foundation expects to meet in the coming weeks to review grant submissions and make awards.
