The Buildings & Grounds report brought two safety and facilities items to the board’s attention for action next week.
"We have 2 items for next week," Shasta said, listing a fence contract for removal and installation at the Dormont Elementary stadium and a scaffolding issue. She warned the existing scaffolding is unsafe and must be discarded and replaced because it is used for high work in auditoriums and the pool area. "It's vital to do anything that's high, but it's unsafe for our men and women," she said.
Clarification: Board members clarified the fence location is at Memorial (not the elementary school), and the item will return for formal contracting action with the correct site noted.
Next steps: Buildings & Grounds will present a fence contract and recommended scaffolding replacement for board action at the next meeting.
