In personnel, staff introduced two revised position descriptions and said the district will advertise openings for cafeteria/recess aides and before-and-after-school care roles, with an $18 starting wage on postings. Staff also described building a substitute pool and noted multiple pending FMLA leaves that create hiring urgency.
The board also reviewed plans to expand Best Buddies and to establish a unified bocce program with secured coaches; staff said formalizing position descriptions is part of the application process to become a unified champion school within roughly a year.
No formal votes on finance or personnel items were taken at the work session; several items will return for action at the regular meeting.
