Jenkintown School District board approves 2025 meeting schedule; January reduced to one meeting, February gains two sessions

The Jenkintown School District Board of School Directors approved its 2025 board and committee meeting schedule and finalized committee delegate assignments.

A motion to approve the 2025 school board and committee meeting schedule was presented and seconded. During discussion a board member clarified a scheduling change from prior publicity: "Last year, at this reorg meeting, we voted on all of the board meetings for the 23-24 school year and including January 2025, which had two board meetings in January 2025. And then in February 2024, we only had one because of Presidents' Day, and we made a change to January 2025 to only have one board meeting in January. And we will put two board meetings on February — February 10 and February 24 — to make up for additional opportunities for public comment," the committee member explained.

After the clarification the board approved the schedule by voice vote; the transcript records the motion passing but does not include a roll-call tally. The board also heard the reading of delegate and committee assignments for the year, including named representatives for counsel (Jacob Tumbauer), counsel Bridget Riley Beauchamp, legislative counsel and the IU (Lisa Smith), Eastern (Carolyn Riley), Home and School (Nathan Bridge), Education Foundation (Nancy Campbell), wellness and safety committees (Nina Resikoff), and the nominations committee (Patrick). A member confirmed the delegate list was informational and did not require a formal vote.

The meeting adjourned with no executive session scheduled.
