The board approved staffing appointments on June 26 after the superintendent introduced the candidates and read their biographies.
The superintendent introduced Libby Foster as the new assistant principal for Chestnut Wold and Coopertown Elementary Schools, noting her bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s in applied educational psychology, principal certification and more than 12 years of experience including roles in Onslow County and William Penn School District. The superintendent said the district was “thrilled to welcome Libby to this new role.”
The superintendent also introduced Kevin Smith as the district’s new K–12 STEM supervisor, reciting his mathematics and education degrees and more than a decade of leadership experience, including prior roles in Norristown and other districts. The board approved both appointments contingent on receipt of required clearances and certifications.
Both motions passed by voice vote. The superintendent and HR representatives said onboarding steps and clearances would be completed prior to the start of the assignment.
