The Haverford Township School District board approved a professional services agreement with Solento Energy Services on June 26 to assist with drafting a request for proposals for a solar photovoltaic system at Chatham Park Elementary under the Solar for Schools grant program.
The motion authorizes the agreement at a cost not to exceed $12,000, contingent on final solicitor review and compliance with Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) requirements. Staff said the RFP must be published in two forms for a three‑week period and that the district would likely review bids and vote on award in August or September depending on schedule and CFA requirements.
A board member asked whether the CFA contract language applies to all subcontractors and whether it represented boilerplate from the state; staff confirmed the solicitor reviewed the language and that they would follow the CFA requirements. Staff also offered to follow up with the consultant (Mr. Celentano) about estimated hours and timing for the RFP process.
The board approved the motion by voice vote. Staff said they will provide further scheduling details and a draft RFP timeline once the consultant work is underway.
