At the meeting Chair opened the agenda and the district staff member explained that the band director and principal had approached the district about replacing worn uniforms and that the procedure is to prepare specifications and advertise for bids. “The band director and the principal approached about replacing uniforms,” Presenter said, and staff asked for approval to advertise the specifications prepared with the band director.
Board members asked whether the purchase was budgeted; Chair and other members confirmed the item is included in the athletics or program services budget and described visible wear on current uniforms. The Presenter noted repairs have been ongoing through the years and that a full replacement is now justified.
The board directed staff to finalize the specifications and bring back updated bid documents; the Chair said Jamie will update the paperwork for the board’s review before any contract award.
The board did not take a formal vote on an award at the meeting; staff will return with bid results and a recommended vendor after the advertising and competitive process is complete.
