Facilities director reports ADAC installation complete; board approves train-maintenance contract

The Blackhawk School District's facilities director told the board that summer work on buildings and grounds is nearly finished and that the ADAC installation is essentially complete and tested.
The facilities presenter said crews completed summer cleaning and painting, installed LED upgrades that "paid for themselves," and described the ADAC project as "a 100% done with the installation" while noting pending oil-bin and chiller work. He also warned of part delays for the public-address system in a few areas but said teams expect to complete outstanding items before the first day of school.
Separately, the board considered and approved a motion to renew the 2024 train-maintenance contract covering Blackhawk High School and the middle school; the renewal passed on a roll-call vote.
The board also highlighted several grants that will fund classroom projects and extracurricular supports across grades K12, including funds for field trips, ukulele purchases for the middle school, STEAM equipment and a clothing closet at Blackhawk High School.
The district said bus schedules have been published and Skyward is open for parent forms and schedules ahead of the school year.
