Bermudian Springs board elects leaders, approves personnel hires and LIU mentorship contract

The Bermudian Springs School District board reorganized its leadership and approved a series of routine personnel and contract items at tonight’s regular meeting. The board appointed Ruth Griffey as temporary president, elected Dan Chubb board president and Brian Davis vice president, and approved hires and a statement-of-work with Lincoln Intermediate Unit 4 for professional mentorship in 2024–25.
The board opened reorganization under the temporary presiding officer. The secretary "I nominate Ruth Griffey," and the motion was seconded and approved by voice; the chair then declared, "Ruth Griffey is now appointed as temporary president." As temporary president, Griffey opened nominations for board president; Dan Chubb was nominated and, after no further nominations, elected by voice vote.
The board then moved to elect a vice president; Brian Davis was nominated, seconded and elected by voice vote. The board approved the November minutes and financial reports 9a–9e by roll call vote after confirming there were no conflicts requiring abstentions. The board also approved resignation items (1A/B), work approvals for an elementary special education teacher, a learning support teacher and a high school music teacher, and the hiring of a high school custodian.
Administrative recommendations carried for teacher mentors for the 2024–25 school year, elementary girls coaches for 2024–25, extracurricular contracts, and recommended volunteer coaches. The board approved the 2025 calendar of board and committee meetings (caucus, regular, CIRA and policy committee schedules).
On regional representation, the board approved Jen Goldheim to serve as the Bermudian Springs representative to Lincoln Intermediate Unit 4 for 2025–2028. It also approved a listed real estate tax refund and an activity account item for the girls wrestling club. The board voted to enter a statement-of-work contract with Lincoln Intermediate Unit 4 to provide professional mentorship for the 2024–25 school year.
Throughout the meeting motions were made, seconded and carried (the chair repeatedly stated, "Motion carries"). With the final consent item completed, the chair adjourned the meeting.
