Carlynton SD hears favorable bids for Carnegie renovation; board to decide on alternates next month

The administration expects to bring a recommendation for contract award to the board around Nov. 17–18 and tentatively schedule a contractor kickoff meeting in December. Physical construction is scheduled to start in May 2026, but the team plans to order long-lead items and finalize schedules before then.
District context: board members asked whether tariffs or market volatility had affected bids. The project team said schedule changes and scope phasing reduced general-condition costs and that the market did not show the large volatility seen on prior projects. Board members and administrators also emphasized balancing the Carnegie project against other district needs and projects when prioritizing alternates.
