York Springs official raises bus-safety concerns; local resident announces special-election bid

During the public-comment portion of the Bermudian Springs School Board meeting, Lorenzo de Vida, president of the York Springs Borough Council, urged the board to consider student-safety risks of motorists passing stopped school buses on Route 94 through the borough. De Vida described problem locations near the post office and a convenience store and said borough officials have limited enforcement capacity, have contacted state police and are considering speed-display signs and relocation of current signage as interim measures.
De Vida asked the district to consider the issue and suggested the board and administration might discuss next steps outside the meeting. The board chair said the board would follow up rather than discuss the matter on the floor.
Also during the public-comment period, a local resident, Neil Clifford, told the board he was running in a special election for the state House seat for District 183 on March 17, 2026, and asked for community support. The meeting also included student remarks: Kylie Hermanson, introduced by a staff member, thanked the board for listening to student voices and for the board’s support of schools.
