Superintendent Dory updated the board on unfinished business related to a proposed bond measure. She said the district is developing language for a May bond that would fund student safety and security work and critical repairs, and that the planning group has been discussing a target range of about $6 million to $7 million.
Dory said the district will use a Feb. 5 work session to craft the bond language and that the February board meeting could be the occasion to approve the final ballot measure for submission to the county. "We'll spend about an hour working with Kyle and going through the bond language before it would ever go to the board for a vote at the February board meeting," she said.
Board members raised timing concerns, noting the fire district may pursue an early levy renewal that could affect voter appetite. The superintendent said she would check with the fire chief and coordinate further details and the final project list and approximate costs before the work session.
The board did not vote on the bond at the meeting; the item remains in pre-bond planning with next steps scheduled for Feb. 5 and the February board meeting.
