Auditors report "clean" opinion for Rainier School District, note two state‑standard findings

External auditors presented the Rainier School District financial statement audit for the year ended June 30, 2024, reporting an unmodified (clean) opinion on the district's financial statements and no federal award issues.
Tara Camp, partner in charge of the financial statement audit, told the board the auditors issued a clean opinion on the financial statements and found no noncompliance with federal awards. "For the financial statement audit, we issued an unmodified opinion on the financial statements," Camp said.
Camp also noted two findings under the Oregon minimum municipal audit standards (detailed on page 60 of the audit report) and said the auditors had some difficulty with scheduling because the district was not fully ready at the scheduled time. She said there were no disagreements with management about accounting and auditing matters and no separate management letter was issued.
The auditors also highlighted upcoming accounting standards (for compensated absences) that the district will need to implement for the next audit cycle and said they will assist the district in the transition.
Board members had no questions at the meeting and thanked the auditors for the presentation.
