During the presentation staff also outlined other potential projects that could be considered as part of the work — upgraded lighting (fluorescent replacements), cantina floor abatement and replacement (asbestos abatement required), interior and exterior door improvements, locker‑room and girls’ locker room floor repairs, and lower‑field work on the soccer field. Staff said they plan to obtain cost estimates from contractors and prioritize items according to available funds.
Staff described the procurement rationale for using the CMGC process on this large project (qualification‑based selection, potential cost savings and oversight efficiencies) and asked the board to submit any additional improvements they would like considered in the scope before staff finalizes cost estimates.
No contract was awarded at the work session; staff will return with procurement details, contractor recommendations and cost estimates for prioritization in the upcoming budget cycle.
