Coastal Center seeks to expand services on the coast, tells Port Orford-Langlois board it is pursuing Medicaid credentialing

Debbie Kirby, representing Coastal Center, told the Port Orford-Langlois School District board that her agency operates an outpatient mental-health center in North Bend serving Coos, Curry and parts of Douglas counties and has provided services to the juvenile-justice system, Head Start programs and families.
"We're an outpatient private mental health agency located in North Bend," Kirby said. She described services that include juvenile treatment, Dewey evaluations, domestic-violence intervention and family support. Kirby said Coastal Center is the only local provider on the coast offering offender treatment and the only local Dewey evaluator.
Kirby told the board the agency is in the process of getting its providers credentialed to serve AllCare Medicaid clients and has experienced state-level issues that it is negotiating. She said services will be available in person and via telehealth once credentialing is finalized.
Kirby also invited the board to a child-abuse summit Coastal Center is cohosting in March with local partners including law enforcement, the Hope Advocacy Center, Kairos and Charlie Health, a virtual intensive outpatient partner. She offered to share pamphlets and follow up with staff to provide more information.
Board members thanked Kirby and noted staff and community partners had assisted in promoting the summit and resources to Curry County.
