Presenter (S3) summarized the calendar: staggered start dates to ease transitions — Sept. 3 for grades 1, 5, 6 and 9 and Sept. 4 for the remaining grades; kindergarten students will begin on a staggered half‑day schedule (half Sept. 3, half Sept. 4) and will not attend on Sept. 5. The calendar includes winter break from Dec. 22 to Jan. 2, spring break in late March, graduation for the class of 2026 on 06/05/2026 and 175 student contact days. "Kindergartners will begin the school year on the state or start schedule with half attending on September 3 and half on September 4," S3 said.
Following the calendar presentation, elementary school presenter (S5) reported attendance and midyear benchmark data: "As of February 28, our students was down 3.31 percent," S5 said, and noted winter benchmark testing showed gains in some categories (for example, students scoring at or above grade level increased from 84 to 108 in a cited measure). S5 also listed upcoming events including kindergarten registration on March 19 and community reading and spirit assemblies.
Middle-school presenter (S6) highlighted student recognitions, professional development and attendance patterns by grade (examples given: sixth grade down about 1%, seventh grade down about 3%, eighth grade down about 8%) and summarized spring sports participation (baseball 30, softball 26; 151 high-school students were participating in spring activities).
Earlier in the meeting the board approved, by voice vote, a separate resolution to increase spending limitations (referred to in the meeting as resolution 2425.193); the chair recorded the vote result as ayes and later noted an apparent discrepancy in the count that will be reviewed.
The board set its next regular meeting for March 17 at 7 p.m. at the community center.
