Summary

Presenter Robin outlined a proposed three‑year strategic plan that consolidates district priorities into four pillars: literacy and rigorous instruction; student well‑being and supports; data‑driven decisionmaking; and future‑ready instruction and career pathways. "I think in honor, but I've experienced, you know, becoming part of the school community here in Pleasant Hill," Robin said when framing the plan’s goals.
The plan includes scorecards, launch student growth targets and appendices (literacy division materials, an equity lens, and owner profiles) that staff will use to monitor progress and report to the board. Board members responded that the document "ties together" previous work and will help focus annual goals and reporting.
Members identified specific follow-ups: ensure literacy initiatives have measurable progress markers, keep equity language visible across decisions (not only at budget time), and develop clearer procedures for when board members should raise substantive discussion versus procedural comments. Several members recommended board training to clarify roles and meeting protocols so members feel comfortable raising appropriate questions during meetings.
The board agreed to return the strategic plan and proposed goals for additional review at upcoming meetings and to include the plan in regular reporting to the board. No final adoption or vote occurred at the work session.
