Pleasant Hill SD 1 board adopts multiple policies and approves corrective actions tied to state assessment rules

At its regular meeting the Pleasant Hill SD 1 board voted unanimously to adopt multiple updated policies and to approve corrective actions to address identified noncompliance with Division 22 state assessment rules.
Staff reported two Division 22 noncompliance items relating to administration of statewide assessments and accommodations for students with disabilities. As part of the corrective action, staff said the district test coordinator (referred to in discussion as Cheryl) will oversee assessment administration, training for building test coordinators (including the high school assistant principal), participation tracking and weekly reporting. The district will publish an assessment calendar aligned to the state schedule and hold post-testing debriefs to confirm participation and accommodations. Staff said corrective actions will be approved and launched during the 2025–26 statewide assessment window.
The board also moved through a set of policy adoptions and housekeeping items and approved them by voice vote: adoption of Division 22 standards updates; adoption of policy JFCEV (personal electronic devices and social media) aligned with an executive order; adoption of the district public-comment policy BDDH and its administrative regulation; adoption of policy JHCA consolidating immunization and concussion/brain-injury procedures (referencing House Bill 3007); and deletion of older policies (JFCEB and GEBBA) replaced by the new policies.
On directory information (policy JROA), staff said state rule changes narrowed the list of directory fields the state treats as directory information (examples retained include student name, photo, participation in recognized activities, sports roster info, dates of attendance, degrees and awards); the district will revise release/registration processes and parent sign-off procedures accordingly. Staff also explained a policy change clarifying how the district calculates the 3% threshold used to deny enrollment at non-district-sponsored virtual public charter schools.
All votes reported on the record were unanimous. No motions failed or were tabled in the meeting’s recorded business items.
