Nyssa SD 26 elects new chair and vice chair, approves consent agenda

The chair opened nominations for board chair. A board member nominated Pat Moraca for chair; the chair stated a motion had been made by Susie and seconded by Dustin to nominate Patricia Morinaka as chair. Members signaled approval by raising their hands and the chair announced "the motion carries."
The board then nominated and elected Susie Ramos as vice chair. The chair said the motion to elect Ramos was moved by Jasmine and seconded by Maribel; members raised hands and the motion carried.
Later in the meeting the board moved and seconded approval of the consent agenda (moved by Maribel, seconded by Donnie); the chair announced the motion carried. The chair also noted that regular board meetings will be held the second Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. and mentioned a possible Aug. 4 work session at 6:00 p.m. The board was encouraged to use OSBA webinars available to trustees.
Next steps: Meeting schedule and work-session plans will be finalized; approved consent-agenda items will be processed per district practice.
